I am a maven. What, you ask, is a  maven?

Maven is a yiddish word meaning "a collector of information." Malcom Gladwell in The Tipping Point broadens the definition, applying it to those who not only collect information but are compelled to share it. For us mavens, the internet is a treasure-trove, providing not only a wealth of information but a vehicle to disseminate that information throughout Cyberland with the click of a button. And if a maven happens also to be a frustrated writer, as I am, a blog is the crown jewel in that trove of treasures.

My former blog Confessions of a Cancer Caregiver  was a way for me to connect —and hopefully share useful knowledge gained from years of caring for my husband—with others who love someone with cancer. Serious business. But Miss Maven's Pearls  is more fun—for me, anyway—and a chance to escape the world of cancer and grief.

A writer without a reader is like a performer without an audience, so I hope you'll indulge me as I attempt to unshackle my inner author while fulfilling my maven mission. Whether it be a monstrous sale at my favorite store, lists of my favorite TV series, books I'm reading, or observations on growing-up-boomer, I look forward to sharing my not-so-deep thoughts with any of you who care to listen.
