Miss Maven's Must-Haves

Today I am sharing a few products, lately discovered, that are making my life happier. I realize that I am not Oprah Winfrey, but the items on my list are much more affordable.

Paincakes I first bought these little stick-on, reusable icepacks for our granddaughter, Campbell, who always had some ache, pain, or injury from gymnastics training. Lately, I have been using them myself for a troublesome shoulder. Keep one in the freezer; remove the sticker on back and slap  it on the painful spot. The beauty is that you can go about your business and take your ice therapy with you. They can be purchased on Amazon, Walmart, or Walgreens.

Good Rx  Thanks to my friend, Carolyn, who first told me about this app. You simply type in the name of the drug you take to find the pharmacy in your area that offers the best price. For example, I have been taking Boniva for a few years through Walgreens–$128 for a 3 month supply (1 pill per month).  The best price offered in my area shown on Good Rx was at Costco Pharmacy  for $30. I thought that changing the pharmacy would mean a call to my physician. But, no! I called Costco Pharmacy; they called Walgreens and I picked up my prescription a few days later.

Dave's Killer Bread Plain Awesome Bagels These organic bagels have 12 grams of protein, 5 super grains, no high fructose corn syrup, and most importantly, the are delicious. I buy them at Sprouts, Target or Kroger,  but I'm certain they are available in other stores.

Superzilla first heard about this amazing product on the Today Show and I must say it lives up to the hype. "Superzilla® is “The Green Wonder Product” because it successfully performs when other products fail without the harmful effects on our health and the environment. Superzilla is non-hazardous and a testimonial to the superior power of plant materials working together to create a safe and effective product for the most difficult jobs. Superzilla is superior as a Penetrating Oil, a Cleaner and as a Lubricant."I

gave it the ultimate test on a patch of bright blue sparkly nail polish that the granddaughters spilled on the upstairs carpet five years ago! I had given up on ever getting it out until— Superzilla. After setting in for five years, the stain is now a shadow of its former self.  I believe if I had used the product immediately, the stain would have been completely gone. I can't wait to try this for some of the other recommended uses.
